Building Alternative Masculinities
Among Young People
A pioneering program that seeks to change the way young men communicate and participate online, and ask for support in an anonymous, safe, and collective way.
What is Bróders?
Bróders is a website designed for young men (ages 14 to 25) where they can talk, share concerns, and ask for support.
The goal is simple yet transformative: to offer an anonymous space where young men can express themselves, reflect on their feelings, and discuss issues that affect them. They often cannot find places to do so, especially when it comes to spaces free from violence and judgment.
The project combines technology, human support, and community, and has established itself in Spain as a benchmark for the promotion of egalitarian masculinities and digital participation.
How does it work?
ANONYMOUS FORUM
A space moderated by project staff where young men exchange questions, experiences, and opinions on topics such as relationships, health, emotions, and current events. User anonymity is preserved, and offensive messages are filtered.SUPPORT CHAT
A confidential channel for speaking directly with a member of Bróders volunteer team. The volunteer team offers empathetic support and active listening, and refers users to specialists based on their area of expertise and location when necessary.PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT
Young people can request a phone appointment with specialized professionals for more personalized follow-up. This service is free, confidential, and aims to provide a gender-sensitive interpretation of the issues they address, as well as referrals if needed.TOPICS AND RESOURCES
In the "Topics" section, users find texts and videos addressing issues such as relationships, sexuality, aesthetics, identity, and success. The content is designed to encourage reflection and offer reliable and accessible information.Who runs Bróders?
Bróders is a program coordinated by Fundación Iniciativa Social (FIS), in collaboration with Laintersección. It is a collective project, built upon a broad network of local and national associations.
Over 20 people make up the chat support team, and nearly 200 professionals and organizations collaborate in the support community.
